What Types of Amenities Can I Expect to Find at Each Property?

For your convenience, each property comes with the following:

  • Washer and dryer
  • Bed linens and bath towels
  • Startup supplies of dishwasher and laundry detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Fully equipped kitchen

Island Getaway recommends bringing the following:

  • Beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas
  • Hair dryers
  • Paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries
  • Dish towels
  • Trash bags
  • Coffee filters
  • Laundry and dish detergent

What is the Check-In and Check-Out Time?

Check-in time begins at 4 PM and can run as late as 6 PM. Island Getaway will notify you via our App if your home is ready before the normal check-in time. Should you arrive on Hilton Head Island before your home is ready, please visit our Things to See & Do page for fun ideas to pass the time.

Check-out time is 10 AM. Late checkouts are not permitted.

What Do We Do if We Arrive After the Office Closes?

If your property uses a key we will provide details on picking up the check in package.

When is My Balance Due?

Your balance is due 30 days prior to arrival and can be paid by personal check or will be automatically charged to the card on file.

Do You Provide Bikes, Cribs, and Other Necessities?

Island Getaway does not rent vacation supplies; however, you can rent these items from any of these recommended suppliers:

How Do I Cancel My Reservation?

If you find it necessary to cancel your reservation, 25% of the base rate (before taxes) will be forfeited when cancellation occurs more than 120 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations made less than 120 days prior will result in loss of your deposit. Cancellation within 30 days of arrival results in loss of total payment. Cancellation of long-term reservations (28 days or longer) after receipt of deposit results in loss of the deposit. Cancellation within 30 days of arrival results in loss of total payments and charges.

Is a Deposit Required?

When you make your accommodation reservations, you will receive a confirmation and deposit request. A check for the deposit of the rental is required to guarantee your reservation. Checks should be mailed to: Island Getaway, 28 New Orleans Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. Please put your reservation number on your check.

Can We Use the Fireplace, Garage, and Elevators?

In most of our rental properties, these facilities are not available. However, we will make arrangements for handicap elevator access (if applicable) and follow up on other requests or needs.

What Is Keypad Entry?

Most of our properties are equipped with locks that issue unique pass codes, which will be specific to your reservation. You will receive this code within the Island Getaway app, listed under ‘Access My Rental’.

Do You Offer Monthly Winter Rentals?

Island Getaway represents a number of homes and villas that can be rented by the month during the winter. Ask your reservationist for more details.

Do You Have Pet-Friendly Properties?

Is There an Additional Charge to Heat the Pool and/or Hot Tub?

Yes, the homes with heated pools and hot tubs charge an additional heating fee. The villas with heated pools and hot tubs do not charge a fee and they are heated seasonally (confirm dates with Island Getaway).

What Type of Rates are Available?

Rental rates and seasonal discounts vary for each property. If you do not have a specific property in mind but you know the arrival and departure dates, click here to search for and view which properties are available for any specific week. If you are trying to book a property for less than one week, or if you have any additional questions, please call our office to speak with one of our knowledgeable agents at 843-781-6556.

Do Your Properties Include Tennis Privileges?

Select properties include tennis memberships for guests. Other select properties have on-site tennis courts. Use the filter option during a reservation search to narrow down properties wtih tennis privileges.

Why Should I Rent a Villa or Home Versus a Hotel Room?

Vacationing in a home and having access to your own living room, dining room and kitchen provide substantial cost savings for snacking and mealtimes. Added convenience and much added privacy are other benefits to home and villa rentals.
