Check-in time is between 4:00 p.m and 6:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Late arrivals are no problem. After-hours check-ins can be arranged with prior notification. Note, off season office hours may vary.


Rental rates and seasonal discounts vary for each property. To view the rate of a specific property (on a specific date) search here. If you do not have a specific property in mind but you know the arrival and departure dates, click on our search by date feature to view which properties are available for that week. If you are trying to book a property for less than one week, or if you have any additional questions, please call our office to speak with one of our knowledgeable agents at 1-800-476-4885.


When you make your accommodation reservations, you will receive a confirmation and deposit request. A check for the deposit of the rental is required to guarantee your reservation. Checks should be mailed to: Island Getaway, 28 New Orleans Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. Please put your reservation number on your check.


Your balance is due 30 days prior to arrival and can be paid by personal check.


If you find it necessary to cancel this reservation 25% of the base rate (before taxes) will be forfeited when cancellation occurs more than 120 days (prior to your arrival date0> Cancellations made less than 120 days prior will result in loss of your deposit. Cancellation within 30 days of arrival results in loss of total payment. Cancellation of long term reservations (28 days or longer) after receipt of deposit results in loss of the deposit; cancellation within 30 days of arrival results in loss of total payments and charges.

What type of amenities can I expect to find at each property?

For your convenience, each property comes with the following:

  • Washer/dryer
  • Bed linens and bath towels
  • Start-up supplies of dishwasher and laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels.
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Every kitchen is fully equipped.

Island Getaway recommends bringing the following:

  • Beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas
  • Hair dryers
  • Paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries
  • Dish towels
  • Trash bags and coffee filters
  • Laundry and dish detergent
Do you provide bikes, cribs and beach necessities?

Island Getaway does not rent vacation supplies; however, you can rent these items from any of these recommended suppliers:

Is there a housekeeping fee for my reservation?

Housekeeping fees are included in your reservation and maid service will provide bedding, bath towels and a few starter items. Housekeeping does not supply beach towels. You may schedule additional days of housekeeping services and those additional service fees can be added to your reservation.

Is there an additional charge to heat the pool and/or hot tub?

Yes, the homes with heated pools and hot tubs charge an additional heating fee. The villas with heated pools and hot tubs do not charge a fee and they are heated seasonally – confirm dates with Island Getaway.

Can we use the fireplace, garage and elevators?

In most of our rental properties, these facilities are not available; however, we will make arrangements for handicap elevator access (if applicable) and follow up on other requests or needs.

Do you have pet-friendly properties?

Yes, we have a few select pet friendly properties. Please inquire with your specific needs.

Do your properties include tennis privileges?

Select properties include tennis packages for guests. Other guests have paid access to Palmetto Dunes, Sea Pines, Shipyard and Port Royal Centers.

What do we do if we arrive after the office closes?

If your property uses a key we will provide details on picking up the check in package.

What is keypad entry?

Many of our properties are equipped with locks that issue unique pass codes, which will be specific to your reservation. You will receive this code in your check in package one week prior to arrival.

Why should I rent a villa (or home) versus hotel room(s)?

Vacationing in a home and having access to your own living room, dining room and kitchen provide substantial cost savings for snacking and mealtimes. Added convenience and much added privacy are other benefits to home and villa rentals.

Do you offer monthly winter rentals?

Island Getaway represents a number of homes and villas that can be rented by the month(s) during the winter. Monthly rates start at $1200 per month, with 1 to 8 bedrooms available. Ask your reservationist for more details.
